  • Emmons misses gold medal once again

    For the second straight Olympics, Matt Emmons lost a gold medal with a stunning mistake on the final shot. China's Qiu Jian ended up claiming the gold medal, followed by Ukraine's Jury Sukhorukov and Slovenia's Rajmond Debevec.

    Ukraine's Olkesandr Petriv won the gold medal in the men's rapid fire pistol event, followed by Germany's Ralf Schumann for silver and Germany's Chirstian Reitz for bronze.  American Keith Sanderson placed fifth.

    The scene is a familiar one now at the Olympic shooting hall: Matt and Katerina Emmons, hugging and smooching after yet another medal.



  • Shooter fails doping test; U.S. gets bronze

    North Korean shooter Kim Jong Su failed a doping test. He has been stripped of his silver medal in the 50m pistol event and the bronze medal in the 10m air pistol event.



  • Emmons wins silver, Ukraine gold
    American Matt Emmons won the silver medal in the men's 50m smallbore rifle prone position event. Ukraine's Artur Ayvazian won the gold medal and Australia's Warrent Potent bronze.

    China's Du Li tied an Olympic record during the qualifying round of the women's 50m smallbore rifle, three position event. Du scored 589 points.

    After not placing in the top tier of the women's 10m air rifle event, China's Du Li won a gold medal in the women's 50m smallbore rifle three position event. Katerina Emmons won the silver medal and Cuba's Eglis Yaima Cruz bronze.  



  • American Rhode wins silver, Italy gold
    Italy's Chiara Cainero won the gold medal in the women's skeet event. Germany's Christine Brinker won the bronze medal and American Kimberly Rhode silver.

    American Glenn Eller won the gold medal in the men's double trap event. Italy's Francesco Daniello won the silver medal and China's Hu Binyuan won bronze. American Jeffrey Holguin came in fourth.


  • Jin Jong Oh wins gold medal

    South Korea's Jin Jong Oh won the gold medal in the men's 50m free pistol event. North Korea's Kim Jong Su won the silver medal and China's Tan Zongliang the bronze.
