Tyra Banks may be on her way to becoming the next Oprah. Banks, whose syndicated show has picked up quite a following since it’s debut picked up an Emmy for Outstanding Talk Show – Informative at Friday’s Daytime Emmy Awards.
''I want to thank Oprah Winfrey for her inspiration,'' Banks said. ''She is the queen and will always be the queen.''
Hosted by Cameron Mathison of ABC’s All My Children and Sherri Shepherd of “The View” the 35th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards also awarded Young and the Restless actor Kristoff St. John with Oustanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series.
Ellen Degeneres picked up her fourth consecutive Daytime Emmy at the show broadcast from Hollywood’s Kodak Theatre where Regis Philbin received the Lifetime Acheivement Award. Jimmy Kimmel presented the award to the 76-year-old talk show host, who's career can be traced back to his days as an NBC page in the 1950s.
